Prototype of a Two-Phase Axial-Gap Transverse Flux Generator Based on Reused Components and 3D Printing

This paper presents a prototype of low-cost two-phase axial-gap transverse flux generator, in which the magnetic and electric circuits have been made reused materials, stator housing has manufactured by 3D printing plastic. Therefore, this work as novelty combination novel topology two challenging trends electrical machines manufacturing, such reusing components additive manufacturing. Axial-gap potentially enable main advantages axial machines, i.e., short length high number poles. The arrangement with shared air gap is great interest order to reduce further while avoiding use materials rotor, iron or soft composites.
